| Okay so this is really important to me....friends of mine were affected, or lost or hurt or whatever by a crash in December and the photos and footage of the crash site really set me off....I wrote this letter to our newspaper and the published it.
I am a student at Casa Grande who knew two people who were killed and one who was injured in the December 13th car crash on Adobe road. I was horrified when I picked up the December 21-27, 2005 edition of the Argus Courier. I cannot explain the heart-ache you caused with your invasive pictures of Miguel, Michaela, and the crash site.
You ripped open wounds that were just starting to heal with your abrasive pictures of our friends and peers bloody and broken. In full color on the front page you plastered Miguel with a bloody nose being steadied because he couldn’t even stand. On the inside you exploited Michaela in her neck brace on the stretcher and the worst of all: a picture of the crash site where you can barely make out a body being crowded by firefighters.
The Argus Courier used these pictures with no regard to the families and the friends trying to get their lives back together. We all knew what happened that day but you assaulted us with invasive pictures. Where has the dignity and integrity gone from our newspapers? Where has compassion gone? You displayed the worst moment of most of our teenage lives with no thought to how the display would affect and rip at our minds and hearts.
I was not the only person crying as I saw those pictures, maybe that’s what you were aiming for, raw emotion. There are ways to show the destruction that the crash caused without exploiting the event. You crossed every boundary of these students privacy as you took their picture as they lost sisters and friends. You have eliminated my faith in respectful journalism. Congratulations you sold a few newspapers.
| There is this girl named Elaine who is as right and Nate is left. Todd allows us to write on the whiteboard if we have our own pens. Elaine likes to write little notes on the board, Nate doesn't dig them.
One day she is up at the board and Nate walks in and rudely says, "Why do you write on the board, no one cares."
I answered for her,"Freedom of speech, Nate."
He replied,"Nothing is free."
He is such a hypocrite. He likes to say things to fit his situation to make him right. The day after the walkout he was talking to Ms. Kautsch about how Giovanni said something that he was afraid the newspapers would print. Where was freedom of speech there Nate? What about when I didn't like S.C.U.M. Manifesto and you said it was freedom of speech and it was cool for her to write it?
You know I think Nate can be cool sometimes but hipocrasy doesn't set well in my stomach. I'll go to protests when I know he's there, I'll be cool with him. I may even be his friend at some point, maybe I am.
Blame Kent because he started the whol tangent on hypocracy and self-righteousness.
| Okay so the other day I posted a bullitien story about how the Grinch (Georgie) Stole Gay Marriages. Funny little story, if you haven't read it yet I'll send it to whoever.
So I think Love=Love no matter what. And whatever some people don't agree (get over it.) I know this dude from a remote Christian school in Navato and he replies "lmao this is 100% grade AAA absurd."
I replied as follows:
You know I am so sick of your "I'm-Better-Than-You" self-riteuous attitude. You are so arrogant, at least when I post these things I know that some people won't agree. Unlike you I am able to accept what other people think or believe. I don't get on your case about religion or other crap you've said but dude you have got to back off. You will get nowhere in life if you go through it thinking you are superior or that just because you believe something it is right. That's the problem with both the liberals and the conservatives, you all believe you are right and won't listen to anyone else. I think you need a serious reality check. You have no idea what life is actually like man. If your school said half of the racist discrimatory shit I heard when I went, you would be killed at my school. You can believe whatever you want, so can I, so back off.
He then writes back:
lol. you are the one who needs a reality check. yet because you think i do, you will most likely never get one. i do not think i am superior then you. i do not have a better then thou attitude as you so uneloquently put it. you think i do, because i know what is right and i act on it. deep down inside you still have a little voice left, telling you that what you are doing is wrong. that is why you respond so vehemently. you are shortsighted and naive, and because of that, you think those traits belong to me. well, you're wrong. so i hold nothing against you.
So I just messaged him back with the following:
If I say the sky is bright green, you can prove I am wrong. True enough, which is why I wouldn't say that. What I believe and think, my take on life is not wrong just because I do not agree with you. As for that "little voice that says you are right" it's non-existant. I know in my heart that it doesn't matter who a person is in love with, if there is love then they should be able to choose their own path, without other people telling them what to do. Your God wouldn't have created same-sex feelings if he didn't want them, if it says God loves everyone the same, why do you care about people who care about eachother? You need to learn that not everyone agrees with you and that doesn't make them OR you wrong. That is why "God" gave us a mind to think. I may believe that a flower or rain is beautiful and you may not. Neither of us are wrong. Why? Because we are different, have our own minds, and own likes/dislikes. Think you are right, think I am wrong but if you want an audience that will put up with your condecending attitude, talk to people at Northbay.
Now I'm going to talk with you guys. I hate people like that. Don't you? You know the sort: condescending people who think that it's their way or the highway.
Whether it be at school or home, Liberal or Conservative, Nate or Kent, these people suck. We have brains and are allowed to think differently so why do these people think they are better than everyone else?
If you have taken the time to read this far please don't let your time be wasted:comment about these crappy people.
One thing that I pride myself on is my ability to have my own beliefs but not act as if they are the only beliefs in the universe
| Dude. . . I'm supposed to be updating this. . . So I just got back from San Diego. We were down in the smog filled city for the Firefighter Olympics. My dad played with Alameda, if you care. So what I have been doing since getting back? Taking care of our new puppies Bosco and Faith (3rd Watch) and cleaning. At some point I'm going to Georgia to visit with my cozez without my brother!
Oh and also my picture was in the paper today (yesterday) for an anti-war protest outside the recruitment office. It isn't a great photo of me but it's the principle of the thing!
| May 7th Finally Happy
Yesterday was one of the best days I've expierenced! And Everyone who is reading and has read all my others will wonder what the Hell I'm on but hey it was great! I don't really remeber much of the school day...I didn't pay attenetion in Math... 27 grammer excercises I copied from Jeannine in Spanish...Kress didn't piss me off...My country report has been turned in! It started when Karl pulled the most impressive prank on 5 different countries (groups of two) in World History. I must admitt Erica and I were the first to sign this bogus treaty. I didn't read all the way through and we signed away all governemental control to our country to theirs. Him and Chris got about 5 countries in all... but you had to be there. So after school I escaped home for 45minutes then turned around to go back to school to watch the baseball game. Fai, Tran, and I sat right behind homeplate, and for anyone who knows me this was big, for those of you who don't: I am terrified of the ball. 45 minutes later Fai, Tran, and I were pedaling over to the "Community Bike Ride" formally known as Critical Mass. It was the biggest I had ever seen it! I exercised my (Mrs. Richter's) camera and met a couple people. After getting lost on the way home (I know I live here) we (fai tran me) found ourselves once again at CASA. This was the highlight of my night. Take Back the Night! We marched around chanting while cars passed by and honked... one car more than once. We marched back to Casa and held a little rally. People spoke, I recouped a couple buttons that were stolen from my backpack, and I won a free subscription to BITCH magazine! Hey it was a great day... now I'm goin to the Whole Earth Festival. Hippies, Hemp, Vegitarian food, Political pins. I love it!!
